Mr. Morris is a Managing Director of GKM Ventures, a venture capital fund investing in West Coast later stage information technology companies. He is also currently Chairman of the Tech Coast, one of the largest angel networks in the United States organized to invest in Southern Californian early stage companies. In addition to senior investment banking positions with Gerard Klauer Mattison, Sutro & Co., Wedbush Morgan Securities and NewCap Partners, Mr. Morris was a Partner of First Interstate Venture Capital Corporation (and its successor Hall, Morris and Drufva Capital Management) which invested in wide variety of promising companies. After starting his business career in Los Angeles on the audit staff of Arthur Young & Co. (now Ernst & Young), Mr. Morris accumulated ten years of financial management and operating experience with two public companies. For five years, Mr. Morris was the chief financial officer for a public consumer electronics company. Mr. Morris was one of the co-founders of the Forum for Corporate Directors in Orange County, an organization dedicated to improved corporate governance practices for public and private companies. As an investment banker and later as a venture capitalist, Mr. Morris has served as a director for a variety of private and public companies. Mr. Morris is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer on matters involving venture capital and entrepreneurship. Before receiving his M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles. Presently, he is a director for DAX Solutions, Inc. and Syntricity, Inc.
